Creating a New Product
Creating a new product in Xada can be done either through the dashboard or via CSV import.
Step 1: Ensure the supplier exists
Every product in Xada must be associated with a supplier.
- If the supplier already exists, you can proceed with product creation.
- If the supplier does not exist, it must be created first.
Refer to the following article for instructions:
Article: Creating a Custom Supplier
Step 2: Choose how to create the product
Once the supplier exists in Xada, there are two ways to create new products:
- Via the dashboard (recommended for single products)
- Via CSV import (recommended for bulk product creation)
Option 1: Creating a product via the dashboard
This method is best suited for creating or managing individual products.
- Go to the Products page.
- Click the Create Product button.
- Fill out the product details.

Required fields
The following fields are mandatory and cannot be left empty:
- SKU (must be unique within the system)
- Supplier
- Purchasability

Optional fields
During product creation, you may leave the other fields, including the following sections empty if preferred:
- Options
- Custom fields
- Images
- Colours
- Sizes
If you choose to do this, ensure the product is set to inactive. You can populate or update this data later via the dashboard or through a CSV import.
For guidance on completing each section of the product page, refer to the following article:

Option 2: Creating products via CSV import
CSV import is the fastest and most efficient way to create multiple products at once.
Step 1: Download the layout CSV
Download the layout CSV file to understand the required structure and column names.
Refer to the following article for detailed instructions:

Step 2: Populate the CSV file
Once you have downloaded the layout CSV, open it in your spreadsheet editor and enter your product data. Not all columns are required. Below are the essential fields needed to create new products.

Step 3: Import the CSV file

- Go to the Imports page.
- Click Import CSV.
- Upload the file and click Upload.
