Why Is My Brand or Category Scheduled for Deletion?

In Xada, brands and categories are automatically scheduled for deletion when they are about to become empty.

This typically happens when all products within that brand or category are no longer eligible to be exported to your storefront.

Why This Happens

Xada prevents empty pages from appearing on your website.

If all products within a brand or category are:

  • Inactive
  • Not eligible for export
  • Or scheduled for removal

Then the brand or category itself is also scheduled for deletion.

This ensures your storefront remains clean and does not display empty pages.

Common Reasons Products Are Removed

A brand or category may become empty due to one or more of the following:

  • Products have been set to inactive
  • Products no longer have an active price
  • Supplier has been set to inactive
  • Pricing no longer meets export requirements (e.g. missing markup for supplier-fed products)
  • Rules have changed product status or category assignments

How to Investigate the Issue

To understand why a brand or category is being removed, you should review the products within it.

Step 1 – Filter Products in Xada

  • Go to the Products page
  • Filter by the affected category

Step 2 – Check Product Eligibility

Review the filtered products and confirm:

  • Are the products active?
  • Do they have at least one active price?
  • Is the supplier active?
  • Are they still assigned to the correct category or brand?

Step 3 – Review Rules

  • Check if any rules are:
    • Deactivating products
    • Removing category assignments
    • Affecting pricing or visibility

Important to Understand

  • Brands and categories do not exist independently on the storefront
  • They are driven entirely by the products assigned to them
  • If no valid products exist, they will be removed automatically

How to Prevent Deletion

To keep a brand or category active:

  • Ensure it has at least one eligible product
  • Confirm products meet all export requirements
  • Review rules that may be affecting product status
  • Reassign products if necessary

Summary

  • Brands and categories are scheduled for deletion when they become empty
  • This is caused by products being inactive or not eligible for export
  • Xada removes them to prevent empty storefront pages
  • Use product filtering and rule review to identify the root cause
