Discontinued Products

Discontinued products are products that a supplier has officially stopped producing or supplying.

How discontinued products are identified

When a supplier discontinues a product, this information is provided to Xada and recorded against the product. The following details are stored and displayed, under the Availability section:

  • Discontinued status
  • Discontinued date
  • Discontinued reason (as provided by the supplier)

How discontinued products are handled

Discontinued products are not automatically removed from the storefront. Instead, they can be managed through rules.

A rule can be configured to:

  • Identify products marked as discontinued
  • Automatically deactivate those products

This approach allows discontinued products to be marked as inactive in bulk, and hence excluded from the storefront.
