There is no restrictions on the number of category levels that can be created; however consider your storefront navigation experience and the limitations of your storefront theme that may limit the number of visible levels. You could consider the customer's browsing experience and opportunity by introducing tags that can be added to a product to assist filtering (eg Gender, Material).
