Assigning Positions to Options and Additions

Please note that this feature may not be available depending on your Xada subscription.

Xada allows decoration positions to be assigned automatically using rules, ensuring the correct positions are available for each product without manual setup. Positions are selected from a predefined list and applied based on product, category or addition type.

Once configured, position assignment rules apply consistently across both existing and newly imported products.

What a Single Rule Can Do

A single position assignment rule can:

  • Assign multiple decoration positions to thousands of products
  • Apply positions across multiple suppliers within the same rule
  • Target products by category or garment type
  • Ensure consistent position availability across the catalogue

This makes it easy to manage complex decoration logic at scale.

Targeting Positions by Product Type

Decoration positions can be assigned based on how a product is categorised in Xada.

For example:

  • Left Chest, Right Chest and Front positions applied to T-Shirts, Shirts and Hoodies
  • Exclude categories where decoration is not suitable e.g. Category is "none of these"

This ensures positions are relevant to the product being decorated.

Predefined Position Library

Xada uses a predefined position library to maintain consistency across the storefront.

Using a standardised list of positions ensures:

  • Clear and consistent customer facing labels
  • Predictable pricing and rule behaviour
  • Reduced risk of duplicate or incorrect position names

Automatic Application to New Products

Once a position assignment rule is active:

  • Positions are automatically applied to newly released products
  • No manual updates are required when new products are imported
  • Position availability remains consistent as the catalogue grows

Rules continue to run in the background, ensuring long term accuracy.

Key Benefits

Assigning positions using rules provides:

  • Accurate targeting of positions based on garment type
  • Scalable management across large catalogues
  • Reduced setup time for new products
